These giant bulbs are about 15 feet high and love to be climbed on. The maze between them provides easy access to stacks of pancakes where a quick climb to the top opens up stunning views of the Cripple Creek countryside to the south and west. Most hikers on this popular trail don't get this far, stopping instead at the first sign of pancake-shaped rocks, a mile earlier.
