South of Colorado Springs and off of Gold Camp Road is Emerald Valley. Though the road is only a few miles long, you can spend all day there mesmerized by one of the most beautiful valleys in the region. The road climbs easily through big pines and pretty aspens, with towering cliffs nearly straight overhead. Then zoom through eight creek crossings and check out the beaver ponds on the way back.
