Several years ago, a nine mile stretch of Gold Camp Road was closed when one of the 100 year old tunnels colapsed. They left that segment closed and it now makes a beautiful bike ride into South Cheyenne Canyon. The wide and smooth dirt road provides views of mountains, forest, canyons, creeks and even goes through two more old tunnels that haven't colapsed yet. This segment starts at the end of North Cheyenne Canyon just above Helen Hunt Falls, and the view is from the half way point, looking west and into the Pikes Peak foothills.
