6 Mile Trail Out,Back 7500-9000 Altitude
This scenic little waterfall is a short ride into the mountains above the collapsed tunnel on Gold Camp Road.
From the Gold Camp Road parking lot, head west past the gate on the closed section of road and around the left hand horseshoe bend. After a mile, the road comes to the collapsed tunnel - the trail goes up the left side and over the top. Once on top, follow the fork in the trail up the hill.
The trail shortly returns to the creek, which it follows for a mile and a half to the falls. The first mile past the tunnel is a slight climb on smooth dirt, and then it turns steep and rocky as it nears the falls.
After several switchbacks there is a sign pointing to the falls "500 Feet" to the left. Drop the bike and walk this last bit over a really bad trail, which stops at the base of the falls. Don't expect to take a refreshing shower under the falls, it's really a cascade pouring 50 feet over a rocky slope, but it's scenic nonetheless.
From the sign on the trail, head up two more switchbacks to a view from the top of the falls. When you're done at the falls, it's an easy three mile ride back to the car.
