Pikes Peak Trail Guide

Best Crising Trails
A good cruise means going a long distance without much effort and technically easy. This usually means dirt roads rather than trails, but we'll leave out paved roads.

Gold Camp Road
This 30 mile road is the old railroad that connects Colorado Springs to Cripple Creek. It's fairly flat but loaded with hairpin turns, and it's one of the most scenic roads in this region.

Phantom Canyon
This is also an old railroad but this one is a little steeper and drops 4000 feet as it connects Victor to Canyon City. The 30 mile ride is nearly effortless as you pass through the beautiful high plateau of Cripple Creek, then into the cliffs, woods and creek of Phantom Canyon.

Rampart Reservoir Trail
This is one of the most beautiful and fun trails anywhere in the country. The trail on the north side weaves through forest, creeks and boulder strewn hills, while providing great views of Pikes Peak over the lake. The north side a little tricky in spots but loads of fun. The south side is a pretty fast cruise.

Mueller Park
This huge state park is webbed with 100 miles of trails, about half of which is open to bikes. Most trails are hilly but non-technical and pretty scenic. It's loads of fun, but bring a map to make the most of this maze.
