Pikes Peak Trail Guide

Favorite Creeks
In this arid country any trail with water is real treat. These creeks aren't only good for cooling hot feet, but they also sport green trees and mossy rocks.

Elevenmile Canyon
The raging Platte River isn't hardly a creek, but the river and canyon are so spectacular you just can't pass it up if you're looking for water. The canyon is busy with hikers, bikers, fishermen, swimmers and climbers, and even has three campgrounds.

Phantom Canyon
This secluded canyon drops 4000 feet between Victor and Canyon City. The creek is covered in trees with towering cliffs overhead, making the whole length a great picnic area - one of the regions most fun bike rides.

Arkansas River Trail
This trail follows the river between Pueblo and Pueblo Reservoir. The western half is out of town and in the trees, making an enjoyable ride in a park-like setting.

Emerald Valley Road
Just off of Gold Camp Road is one of the prettiest valleys in this region. This fun jeep road crosses the creek eight times as it climbs through aspen forest and beaver ponds with towering peaks nearly straight overhead.

Bear Creek Trail
This is one of the fastest dropping creeks in the region and is a scenic hike through deep forest and tall cliffs. The trail is quite rough and not runable on a bike.
